A very warm welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to ShiPH, Shirley Siaton-Parabia‘s more traditional weblog that covers sundry topics and issues that pique her interest, most with online references and links.
I have blogging since 2001, back in the day when Pitas.com was the social networking of choice and if you had Greymatter or B2 running on your self-hosted domain you were the bee’s knees of geekery. Weblogs pretty much started out with short-form posts chock-full of links to various articles and memes online, much like Twitter these days.
A few weeks ago I was browsing through my old links list and came across Kottke.org, arguably the godfather of blogs, which still retained the old-school flavor of hypertext link sharing rather than long-form ramblings (the latter may have been perpetuated by Blogger and LiveJournal midway through the Noughties).
I registered shi.ph for want of a more concise and exotic domain, originally meant to be used as my web collective. However, I decided to use this domain as a blog and preferred using a .com TLD for my collective. Eventually, Very Shirley would be the portal to my webites. My personal journal is located at Shi Bytes.
ShiPH is also available on your favorite social media channels and sharing networks. We have Pinterest Boards and a Tumblelog. You can also follow us on FaceBook, Instagram and Twitter.
